DocuSign: New Features Plus Anti-Phishing Protection
DocuSign is an electronic, legally binding signature service allowing one or more users to securely sign and/or initial an electronic document. Departments using DocuSign replace time-consuming paper documents with secure digital files and signatures.
DocuSign recently released these new features, while our ECU team has implemented a security change to combat phishing attempts.
Introducing new productivity features
- Delegate signers. Add a delegate to your account who can sign on your behalf.
- New template document creation. Use the Agreement Template Builder to edit template documents directly in DocuSign eSignature.
- Comments. Post a comment when sending a document and control which recipients see it.
We’ve added an anti-phishing protection
Users have reported an increase in phishing emails from DocuSign. While these emails are legitimately sent by DocuSign, they are being used for malicious purposes, attempting to trick you into signing fraudulent documents.
To address this issue, ECU has implemented a change to make legitimate DocuSign emails from within the university easily recognizable.
Valid ECU DocuSign email notifications now come from noreply@docusign.ecu.edu with the display name, ECU DocuSign. Have an email question? Submit the email service request.
DocuSign emails from other senders should be treated with caution, as they may not have been generated from a trusted source.
