Exploring Our Service Catalog and Knowledge Base
Users’ Guide to the IT Services Portal
Along with phone and walk-in IT support through Pirate Techs, the ECU service catalog and IT knowledge base give faculty, students and staff an online option for requesting access or support and discovering self-help information for ECU resources.
Access the Services Portal
The easiest way to open the service portal is to navigate to ithelp.ecu.edu. This link opens the service portal’s home page where main menu links jump to the service catalog or IT Knowledge Base.
Find your Topic
Find your topic by browsing categories or using the search bar. For example, to find OneDrive cloud storage by category, first choose Services or Knowledge Base from the main menu. Click the Hardware – software – storage category, then the Storage subcategory and finally OneDrive. Now you’ve opened the IT Knowledge Base OneDrive category to access FAQs, overview and tutorials that help you make the most of your OneDrive space.
For a comprehensive search of OneDrive resources, type OneDrive into the search bar to generate a list of both services and information articles. Typing the hashtag plus your term (#OneDrive) narrows the results.
Submit a Service Request
When you need support or access to an ECU resource, submit a service’s request form. Following our example, open the service page for OneDrive and click the Request Service button. Complete the form and submit.
Most requests are acknowledged within 2-8 hours same day or during business hours the next day.
