Students! Welcome Back
Fall Semester 2026
Hit the Ground Running with these Tech Resources
Move in weekend is just around the corner. Let these tech resources give you a HEAD START to a successful fall semester.
Connect to eduroam – ECU’s primary network
ECU’s primary wireless network, eduroam, is a secure and encrypted network connection for ECU resources. Onboard all your devices once to get four years of network access on ECU’s campus as well as wherever eduroam is available. Onboarding requires an activated PirateID user account.
Use this QR code or the eduroam tutorial link for step-by-step device instructions.

Extended cellular for those busy days
Occasionally, you may experience issues connecting to eduroam wireless while on campus. This can be due to high traffic volume or poor signals within older concrete and plaster buildings. No worries, we’ve got you covered with extended cellular service that provides a strong signal in and around some campus areas. See the cellular service webpage for service provider locations.
Consider passwordless authentication
Skip the password! ECU now offers three passwordless authentication methods for students:
- Software passkey set up through MS Authenticator (free through MS365 subscription).
- Hardware passkey from Yubico (available for purchase through most retailers).
- Phone call Landline (phone call) or mobile verification (call or text).
Passwordless authentication offers the most phishing-resistant MFA methods currently available for verifying your ECU account. Learn more through the passwordless account authentication overview in the IT Knowledge Base.
Log in to mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info to manage your account authentication methods. ECU recommends configuring multiple authentication methods to ensure you always have access to your online resources.
Microsoft 365 is more than Outlook
Your ECU-licensed Microsoft 365 subscription also includes Teams collaboration tool, five Office suite downloads, OneDrive cloud storage and other productivity apps. Microsoft 365 login: pirate365.ecu.edu
