Annually upgrade classroom technologies across the universities infrastructure to university classroom standards that incorporate input from faculty across campus.
Coordinate with College of Education to understand needs and provide both the expertise and services to ensure successful deployment and testing of IT infrastructure ahead of established open dates and within budget.
Provide internship opportunities and coordinate with academic peers to provide activities that engage students.
Work with the ECU Lab School to integrate Office 365 Class Notebook to enhance collaboration.
Provide expert consultation and project management on audio-visual projects for institutional buildings and special installations such as the OneStop Services, Student Union for East Campus, Life and Sciences Technology Project, and the Medical Education Building.
Upgrade over 600 computers in 28 computer lab locations across campus. These upgrades ensure students have access to the latest technologies and the performance required for their Academic work.
Enhance ECU collaboration experiences by the introduction of Microsof Teams and encouraging adoption of pirates365.ecu.edu tools. We will have targeted training and communication materials to improve adoption, reduce costs of competing applications. We will measure our activity and storage to determine impact of our efforts.
Provide support for IT Accessibility through funding of software tools,Â provide training, assessment of enterprise learning tools, adopt tools and universal design practices that support teaching and learning.Â This work includes fully implementing BlackBoard Ally, assessing 100% of the enterprise learning tools, providing training sessions on accessibility or web developers, and providing education and training materials to campus.
Engage a committee of Faculty to examine the next Learning Management System for ECU. This work will involve assessing needs of the campus, receiving and analyzing feedback, software demonstrations, pilots, and a final recommendation.
Upgrade approximately 35 centrally scheduled and 15 departmental learning spaces to the latest technologies and classroom technology standards. These features can include cameras, projectors, lecture capture, wireless connectivity, and computer equipment. Additionally, create a five year Classroom Technology plan that optimizes the use of wireless technologies and scheduling while distributing technology in a cost effective format.
