Guest Wireless Access
Network Access for ECU Visitors
November 14, 2018. Visitors with no PirateID are sponsored by ECU faculty or staff and connect to the ecu-guest wireless network through a daily or weekly guest account. Guest account must include the guest’s first name, last name, email and phone number.
Guest accounts are specifically for those on campus who have no PirateID. Current ECU users requiring assistance logging on to the ECU network should contact the IT Help Desk at 252.328.9866 | 800.340.7081.
Guest accounts are requested and managed through sponsor.ecu.edu. There are two ways to create a guest account.
Method 1. Sponsor Creates Account
ECU sponsors must be faculty or staff. The sponsor can create a guest account or approve a guest-generated account (Method 2). See tutorial with screen shots.
Please note: You must be on campus connected to the campus network (wireless or wired) or off campus connected through a VPN connection to create a guest account.
Method 2. Guest Requests Account
As an ECU visitor, you can request a temporary guest wireless network account that is emailed directly to your faculty/staff sponsor for approval. Once approved, you receive an email with your credentials. See tutorial with screen shots. A visitor must be on campus and using a wireless device connected to the ecu-guest network to request a guest account.
