Guest Network Changes

New connection process for ECU guests launches Sunday, June 7

Good news! Beginning June 7, 2026, faculty and staff no longer need to request visitor credentials (sponsored account) for campus guests connecting to ECU’s Wi-Fi. Visitors will connect directly to the ecu-guest* wireless network for internet access and ECU public resources. Guest network will be available in residence halls.

The process is simple. Visitors to campus:

  • Check their device for available networks.
  • Join the ECU guest network (ecu-guest).
  • View the Connection Successful splash screen. For most devices, the screen automatically pops up. Android devices request the Connection Successful screen.
  • Select Continue to the ECU main website button (required).
  • Receive access to the internet and ECU public resources only.**
  • Are required to reconnect daily and view the Connection Successful splash screen.
  • Call the IT Service Desk at 252-328-9866 for support.

Please Note:

*As with any public Wi-Fi connection, ECU’s guest network is an open, unsecure connection to the internet. It is for temporary visitors ONLY, and should never, under any circumstances, be used to conduct ECU business.

**Unpaid affiliate accounts are still required for users who need access to internal resources or VPN access.
