Technology Training – February 2019

ITCS provides technology training in both seated and virtual formats for students, staff and faculty. Unless otherwise noted, registration for workshops is through the Cornerstone OnDemand training management portal.

 

Accessible Content for Instruction

Online through Webex. Based on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, this session teaches you how to create documents using Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat that are accessible using assistive technologies. REDCap Basic User Training

Face-to-face sessions. REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a secure, HIPAA- and FERPA-compliant, web-based application for building and managing online surveys and databases. This training provides new users with the basics. A REDCap account is required. TurningPoint Audience Response System Workshop

Face-to-face session. Traditionally known as “clickers,” TurningPoint software allows students to submit a response to interactive questions during a presentation or lecture. VoiceThread for Interactive Discussions and Student Presentations

Online & face-to-face. The VoiceThread learning tool increases student engagement and online presence through images, videos, audio files and documents. Like a text-based discussion board, participants can reply to a current thread or begin a new conversation. Webex for Instruction Virtual Classroom

Online & face-to-face sessions. WebEx is ECU’s web conferencing virtual meeting environment and provides both live and recorded sessions that replicate all the capabilities of a traditional classroom. Webex is integrated into Blackboard Learn so you can schedule and record meetings, then make them available to students through a Bb course.
